Stuck in a redundancy no mans land

Hi everyone, I am new on here and was hoping I could ask for some help as I am in a very strange position with work. To cut a long story short my company has been in financial troubles so we were told that we were all going to be paid to a certain date (22nd May) while the company finds a buyer who would then fund the company. A buyer was not found so I was called on the 22nd May at night to be told by the HR manager that the directors had deicded to put the company into administration. I was also told that I would be summoned into work sometime this week to meet the administrator who would give me necessary paper work.
What I would like to know is do I have to wait for this to happen before I can apply for JSA, because at the moment I am not being paid by my company but I have also not been made officially redundant. IS there anyway I can speed the process up?
Look forwards to your replies.

I sent this link to my friend when the company she worked for closed down in similar circumstances.

I would go to the Job Centre immediately as these things take time.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I have been to the job centre now but I have a concern as the company still hasn't gone into administration after a week. Would it be possible that if the company started up again they force me to go back? I am not sure if I am still an employee as I have not been paid for a week now but I also haven't been made officially redundant. Also does this mean I can't start another full time job?0

If they have not paid you when they should have done, then they are in breach of their contract with you.
IMO, if you find alternative work, you could consider claiming constructive dismissal and that you were trying to mitigate your losses.
How long have you been employed by the company which has not yet gone into formal administration?0
