The trick is to decouple the income from the outgoings. you have to do this when monthly anyway for anual bills and the 5weekend months if you have large weekend spends.
A budget is a plan for how to allocate the income to all the spend/savings catagories, do this plan for at least a years worth of income.
You need savings for the medium(new cars/fridge) to long(retirement) term stuff.
Do not use the amount of money you have in an account to decide what to spend plan it.
As long as this plan ballances over the year you then just need to manage cash flow the easiest way to do this is to build up a buffer that would cover the biggest 4 week/months outgoings.0 -
Im in a similar kind of situation except its a little more complicated. Basically I'm on benefiets and trying to support a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. The various different income's we get arrive at different intervals and times. Its very confusing and I cant get my head around some kind o Financial Plan.
