Biz account...which one to turn to?

in Small biz MoneySaving
my partner is starting his new company.. we've registered with company house for a limited company etc, sorted out name, logo and he might be getting a contract very soon - well it's looking good, let's hope.. but he just got turn down for a biz account by Abbey for poor credit...was bad in past but getting better now..
any idea where we should try... he has almost 4,000gbp to start the account .
Just a bit confused of what to do next...

    I'm currently in the process of setting up a business and I'm probably going to use Alliance & Leicester. Most transactions seem to be free.
