Frequent Train travel from Manchester to Norwich

During June and July i will be travelling from Manchester to Norwich via train for 2-3 times a month on the friday till sunday.

There are a number of routes i know exist -
Manchester direct to Norwich via central trains
Manchester to Norwich via leeds

I have a young persons railcard which brings the cost down for a saver return to approx £43.15 (off the top of my head)

I have checked advance tickets but as the dates aren't confirmed i cannot book any of these.

Is there anyway to reduce the cost of the tickets via going certain routes on this journey or purchasing different types of tickets

I think the direct route will be cheapest. However, if you go via London you can get a First Open Return for a mere £418.
