Can anyone suggest a card for arounf the 100 mark ?

I may be wrong but I remember reading that upgrading Dell's are very difficult due to the components they use, it may be worth checking this out further, but I stand to be corrected0

Thanks - been doing a bit of googling and have read one or two things which back up what you;ve said. Think their motherboards are specific to DELL.. oh well.. back to plan B. Seemed such a good buy too.HLK

I don't think there will be a problem upgrading the graphics card but I would probably phone up Dell first to find out what expansion slot it uses for graphics (it looks like it should be pci-e) and whether you caan fit a normal graphics card in.0

9150 does have a standard PCI express (16x I think) graphics card slot. Upgrading a graphics card is OK. 9150 is well specified and well constructed. Some of the lower spec Dell Dimensions have very limited upgrade options and certain models do not provide graphics card slots but 9150 is OK.
In December they had an exceptionally good deal going and the option to upgrade to 6800 with 256MB memory. Very nice machine. Keep an eye on https://www.hotukdeals.com for Dell special offers.0 -
Thanks folks.
So, if I can pop in a graphics card can anyone suggest a reasonable one , oh and is the deal I posted good bad or indifferent ?
Thanks again.HLK

There's a fair bit of movement in the graphics market atm. Probably the best mid range card is the nvidia 7600gt (brand new and just out) which is a tad over budget at £139 inc postage. However, it's the best mid range card out there by all accounts and should last you a wee while.
Apart from that I'd be tempted to look for some deals on cards such as the ATI X800GTO which is an excellent card and dropping inprice as its being phased out.0 -
Hi
The 1 & 3 series, don't have a dedicated graphics slot, so not much use for gaming.
The 5 & 9's do have a pci-e graphics slot, so these 2 are fine.
I have the 5150, I upgraded my graphics to a ATI Radeon 256mb X600, this plays everything that I've thrown at it, I think this cost an extra £23 at the time I was ordering.
So I would have a look at the dell deal, and see if you can upgrade the card, I imagine it would work out cheaper.
Hope this helps0
