Husband has a card on my account, can he get is own account?

I have a Tesco credit card. Have done for a while. At Christmas I got my husband a card for that account, his name, my account number.
Now I would like to take advantage of the recent tesco purchase offer by taking out a new account in his name. Now would this work? Or would his name on my account mean they would deem that as already having an account?

No reason at all why your husband cannot apply.
The existing account is your and your alone, being an additional cardholder won't class him as having an account as he will not have been credit scored.
If he meets the criteria he will get the card in his own right, allowing him to then name you on that account for extra card.
