There is nothing to stop a PWC from doing that - unless the NRP gets a court order, and many won't do that or leave it too late.

To the OP, what are the debts for and who has the benefit of them now?
  • I now have a update on what she is trying. She want to leave me with the debt and says she will not ask for the csa money even though the csa payments are less than the monthly debt amount.

If she does this and then changes her mind, can the csa then be back dated in a few years when the debt is actually clear?

    What shall i do?

The CSA can only start payments from the time they get in contact with you. just keep an eye on your mail anything relating to the CSA act upon it straight away.

Only you can decide what you should do!

We can all offer opinions based on our own personal experiences with the csa.. Some on here have useful inside knowledge of the goings on at the csa, particularly kelloggs36.

As has already been stated the csa can only start to assess you from the time that they send their first letter to a confident address.

As Zara33 says keep a very close eye on all of your mail, in the future. That may mean for years to come!
  • I again have a new story.

I went to the solicitors yesterday and they have now told me that the debt that my wife and I have occured over the last six years is pretty much all my responsibilty. Yippee.

Because the majority of it is in my name, i'm soley responsible. That means that not only was the debt both of our problems at one point. She will now walk away scott free.

I wish that somebody was having me on but I dont think so.

Hi, sorry to hear your situation. I also wish somebody was stringing you along, but unfortunately they're not. When my OH split up from his ex wife, (she was on benefits, he worked 7 days a week, doing 13-15 hour days) they took out loans together and she forged his signature on things like working family tax credits (and claimed that he wasnt working) so she received more benefits than should have - when she kicked him out, he got lumbered with all the debt - that was a good 5 yrs ago, it got to much and he declared himself bankrupt in mid April, best thing he ever did.
Hope things work out for you x
