I do Usborne Books too and its great. Again I don't do that many home parties but there are so many other options. Toddler groups, Rainbows, Preschools and schools.
Basically anywhere parents go and the books are such good quality they sell themselves.0 -
I do Ann Summers, so far I am having a storming time at the moment, yes I do work my butt off and it is time consuming but I love it.
your kit is worth the money and you can boost it my kit at the moment is worth far more than what it was when it started, I am now selling lines off my rail there and then.
I also sell on Ebay too which is allowed I have some of the stuff that is being cleared on there at the moment.
KatieOf all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most£2,960 in debt to RBS paying off at £10 a Fortnight0 -
I am an independent consultant with PartyLite and we sell candles, accessories and well being spa products via party plan.
I have been doing this for nearly 3 years now and can say loving every minute of it.
The thing about party plan is it is very flexible so you can work when suits you but it is a business so your really need to put time and effort into it.
I would agree with Liz though you really do need to have some contacts to get you started, so having 6 parties line up to begin with is ideal way as you then get at least 2 people from each party.
I make sure I have fun at all my parties - I play some fun games and everyone enjoys themselves and can have some fun for a short while.
PartyLite have a fantastic hostess benefit programme - giving away lots of Free products and greatly reduced items for people holding parties.
While parties are the main way of selling our products - you can aslo do fayres, fundraiser events (helping charites/clubs etc get well deserved funds), and catalogue sales.
The great thing I love about my job is meeting lots of new people.I get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
Golden rule.. Never assume that people won't be interested in what you are offering!
In my experience, many of my best and repeat Temple Spa skincare customers are those who said they only ever used soap and water, came to a class and then rejoiced at how great their skin felt after! Often they've simply been afraid to ask at beauty counters about skincare.
Classes are a great way to recruit new consultants too which also adds to your income and there are lot of tips and tricks shared amongst consultants at meetings.
Repeat orders can now be placed on line and you still get 25% commission - just for handing out your web address!
Schools often do ladies pamper evenings where you can offer classes as prizes etc.0 -
I work as a Truly Madly Baby & Truly Madly Kid Consultant. The products are fantastic quality and totally different to your standard high street stuff!! It is a unique was of bringing baby & kid products to mums' homes/toddler groups etc..
We cover the age range birth to apx 11 yrs old and include some products for Mums-to-be as well.
You can earn decent commission, the host earns 10% to spend on products and your Host AND guests benefit from monthly offers as well.
It is hard work and you have to be totally committed to making it a success and I always state to people the old legal line that goes with any self-employed business....
QUOTEIt is illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting other to join a scheme. Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved.0 -
Party planning is fun, but be prepared for hard work and constanly being badgered by your up line(usually the manager that recruited you) even though you may say that you dont want to do too many parties!! I have worked for quite a few party planning companies over the years, Ann summers, Party Lite, Likisma, Pippa Dee, and they all try and push you to do more, because that is what makes the managers money up too, As long as you are aware of this and are strong enough to say no, or are prepared to do more then the money earning potential is huge,
I made it to manager level with Likisma and Partylite and paid for holidays and allsorts, this was worked round my family, but you do need to have a good other half who is prepared for you to do the parties and the recruiting meetings and the team meetings and the unit meetings, so it's not just the parties that you have to find babysitters for
This probably sounds like i don't like party planning, but the truth is it's a good way to work round your family, but you do need support, so if you are thinking about trying it then i say go for it, but please think about what i said about your manager being pushy as this is what usually puts recruits off eventually.
Ok end of essay,:rotfl: sorry for going on.

I'm a leader with FM Group the perfume network, and we are actually benefiting from the recession at the moment with more people wanting to save money on their fragrances and therefore eager to attend our parties. We are about a third of the price that people normally expect to pay, and our perfumes are stronger, e.g. a 30ml Parfum for just £10.50 or 100ml Men's EDP for £14.99.
Average commission on our fragrances is 33% plus bonuses of up to 21% extra (I'm at the 21% level!:D ).
I've been in the company two and half years and have recently qualified for a Mercedes.
There are around 5000 people in the UK in the business, worldwide the company has 300,000 plus in less than 5 years of trading. Italy is doing especially well where perfume is big business.0 -
Hi Roy
I would agree with the perfumes. I am a perfume snob but these ones are very good indeed0 -
We have been Kleeneze distributors for just over 6 yrs and we have made a very comfotable living as well as qualifying for various overseas 'conferences'. Kleeneze have a great range of products which we usually sell through the catalogues - pop them in peoples letter boxes, hand them to friends, relatives, neighbours etc. but they also have a super range of Health & Beauty products as well as Cabouchon jewellery which sells really well via party plan & also sales parties we put on in Elderly peoples homes, sheltered housing etc. especially in the run up to Christmas. Amazingly sales are up despite the recession and there is the added bonus of introducing other people to the business & earning extra bonuses from your combined sales. There are no two ways about it you only get paid in accordance with the amount of effort you put in but you are in control, no boss telling you what to do or when to do it - such a blessing! We would be quite happy to talk to anyone about the opportunity but not sure whether we are allowed to put phone nos. or email addresses in here.0

I have also worked for many different companies most of which are no longer in the area but along the way it was clear that unless you are prepared to put some effort into any of these businesses you wont get much out. But this is only fare isn't it, as why should anyone get paid for doing nothing!!
I LOVE party plan and MLM as nearly all these types of companies offer fantastic extras or deals that you could never get from your local around-the-corner-store and then most of them have money back guarantees. Thats good business and gives me confidence in using their products too. I try to use products and/or services from the whole list of these types of businesses (even if I am not a distributor with them) as it helps support the self employed (very often Mums wanting to earn a little extra) and I am happy to know if I ever do get a problem I CAN go back to the company and get something done.
Even if you dont want to be part of these companies and work with them...use them to buy your items from them....you will get a far better service and quality of products (mostly anyway) and as I said above you CAN go back to them and ask them to help. I have to say that I mostly don't because I am actually happy with what I get. You can always reorder via mail order/internet too once you are a customer. I like being a hostess as I usually get free products and it doesn't really cost me to have a few friends around and have a fun time.
I am a networker using eco-friendly products for home and family as well as doing my bridal makeovers. I did this because as a therapist it can cost thousands to get going. This way it can cost anything from £1.00 to (and I've only heard this) £200.00 so do your homework and suss out which one is right for you first. Once you have go for it....what have you got to loose except a little time earning money!!
by the way Likisma is now joined with Virgin Vie at Home0
