Screen Problem with Laptop

Well, I think that I know the answer to this but I will ask anyway. The right hand third (vertical section) of the screen on my Dell Laptop yesterday decided to go blue and white with a few pyjama stripes of pink and green. Is this repairable? or is my laptop terminally ill? Is it likely to get worse ? might it get better? Or is it time to look for a replacement machine ? Any ideas ? Thanks

The screen can be replaced - but its tricky.
Cost of screens varies with models - sometimes get them sold on ebay.
Might as well contact dell and see what they say.
Saying all that - is the problem there when you boot up or when the operating system loads?
Might well be graphic card in which case worse as I think they are integrated to the main board on the laptops.0 -
The problem is there as soon as the power is turned on0
