Hello,

I have a high credit rating and have done for many years thanks to credit cards. However my partner does not as she has been at uni so not had chance to build up any credit withouting being in debt.

If i put her on my CC as an aditional card holder would this improve her rating?

Thanks in advance

    Unfortunately, not.

Credit cards cannot be held jointly. The principle cardholder is solely liable for the debt and the account and statements would remain in your name only.

The fact that she had an additional card on your account would neither help nor hinder her applications for credit.

As above, the card is based on your credit file and they won't search her credit file. Best way to do this is using a builder card such as Barclaycard Initial.
