in Credit cards
Hello everyone,
Please can I have some advice. New to credit cards and think I have been caught out.
I am on a virgin card. 0% balance transfers till July 2010 and 0% card purchases yntul September 2009.
I thought I was being really careful, paying on time etc.. but turns out I am now being charged interest on a balance for Cash Purchases. Apart from obviously cash out the wall (a no no), what else is classed as a cash purchase.
If I was to go to supermarket and have to buy on credit card, is that a cash or a card purchase. My balance for cash purchases is quite big so im thinking that alot of items must fall into this catergory.
I have asked to pay the cash balance first to get rid of the interest but thats not allowed. I have to pay the biggest balance first so my interest will continue each month.
Confused!
Should I transfer on to another credit card and then not spend anything on it just pay balance off?
I thought you were meant to use a credit card online as it is safer.
Any advice would be great.
