Help required. SE K750i Dictionary problems

Just got a new SE K750i phone to replace my old one (which is beyond being on it's last legs). But I can't get the T9 dictionary function to work, when you press and hold * it isn't coming up, every now and then it is working but then if I browse the net on my phone it turns off the T9 again and won't go back on.
I've tried turning it on manually via the More function in a blank text message, but I don't have that function in there...in fact it seems to have a few missing.
Are there any SE knowledgable people who can help, I have e-mailed SE but they haven't gotten back to me.

back up any contacts, pictures, videos, messages, sounds/ringtones etc before you start and try a settings reset.
menu > settings > (on the general tab) Master reset > reset settings > continue. it should now reset all the settings to the factory defaults.
also, it could be running an older version of firmware than your old phone and that could be why a few bits are missing0 -

Thanks, I shall back everything up tonight and give it a try, I already attempted updating the software via the update manager and apparently it is fully up-to-date so was scratching my head trying to figure out what was wrong. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Tried this last night and T9 still turns itself off when I browse the net and then won't come on when I hold the * key down. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Thanks I'll try that later on, everything is now backed up to my laptop so at least I won't lose anything. Fingers crossed that will sort it.The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Alas it didn't work. Going to try a different networks sim card in the phone and see if I can turn T9 on and off then. I don't think it will but at least that'll prove it's the phone not the sim!The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all.
