ouch! As what I have stated above comes direct from the man Martin Lewis himself I think you need to take your garbelled rant up with him! If you scroll down on the main page you will find the article on credit scores and how they work.
In respect of Egg, am sure you will find the story if you put it in BBC news search engine, I have wasted enough time even replying to you to search for it myself, it was a pretty big story at the time, you must have been hiding under a rock the day it was released! And as Barclaycard have done the same thing as per OP it would appear that it is more common than you claim.
In addition, it is also in the Banking Code, as you appear pretty keen on reading am sure you can read through it.
And in respect of 'facts don't lie' read Michael Foucault, he had some interesting comments to make on the construction of truth. Haha!

LOL, another minion who believes that Martin is the only man that understands credit. I rest my case if that is your argument.

I heard martin (you know, the man himself) say on GMTV the other day that people with high APR's should trash their cards - does that mean he told everyone to bin their credit cards? I am sure there are more savvy people out there than 'The Man'....

    Are you sure about that?

Yes a credit score (in its entirety) does not take into account existing liabilities. Your credit score, is broken into 3 areas (i'm sure i've explained before)....

    personal situation
    debt/liabilities
    credit report

Sorry, my original post didn;t make it clear what I was on about. Credit scoring in itself is not all about outstanding debts.

Martin Lewis, the numerous news reports (one of which you clearly havent read) highliting the issue and plus I work in a part of the finance sector that has a vested interest in knowning these things.
But since you put it like that then I guess i should be paying attention to you. You have converted me, in fact, I am going to stop watching newsnight and listen to your insightful and informed comments about the world instead! :rotfl:

Thanks for that mate - useful for sgt tibbs to know..... Maybe one day we'll have our own forum and get to share a sofa with Lorraine lol

My point is 'anyone' can become a MSE - Martin has his views, others have their own views.
