MacMillan Mastercard - balance Transfer Fees

Hi all

First off - board moderator, this is really a continuation from another thread on which I was active - trouble is I cannot find it - if you can please move this post.

OK - Martin has put up a number of charity cards as being free of Balance Transfer Fees. Many of these are really Bank of Scotland Cards in drag! Anyways - I plumped for the MacMillan Card
http://www.macmillan.org.uk/supportus/disppage.asp?id=6668

I completed the online application and, at the same time, asked for £5000 to be transferred from my Abbey cad. The Macmillan site said *tada* card will be issued, credit limit £6,100 :j

The wording of the credit agreement was a bit convoluted when it arrived and I, and many other MoneySavers, felt that it could be construed as ambiguous on the sublect of Balance Transfer Fees.

I signed it in any case and posted it off. The card arrived today, I activated it and immediately spoke to a Real Human in CS - she has confirmed that
(a) the Balance Transfer applied for in the original application has already gone through and
(b) THERE IS NO BALANCE TRANSFER FEE :T

So - it's worked for me at least, YMMV,

Thanks again Martin

(so there's another £5K Offset against me mortgage for 9 months - oh Happy Day!)
Bob Terveuren :D

Have followed this and the other thread carefully this week and I have just called again as have not yet sent back my agreement after being told last week that there was a BT fee. I am pleased to say that I have had it confirmed today that there will be no fee!!!! I spoke with Heather and she confirmed that they had numerous calls about this (cant think who most of them were from ;) ) and there is def no fee if transfers occur in first 9 months. So form in post asap
