Sold TV on ebay. Now a problem. Advice please

We have just bought a new TV which is being delivered on Wednesday so we put our old TV for sale on ebay. It is a 32" CRT and cost us about £1300 5 or 6 years ago. I put it as 99p start and described it as perfect.
We have never had a problem with it, it has sat in our lounge for years and been A1.
So it went for £107 and the winner (Good feedback) contacted me and said he would collect the following day and pay cash. So he turned up with a friend and a hatchback and I showed him the TV and ran through all the on screen menus etc and he was delighted. (Great TV). I then asked him to pay before he loaded it in his car (I would not want to start asking for payment if he dropped it!). So he paid in cash and then he and his friend took the TV and stand out to his car and loaded it (laying the TV flat down on its screen in his hatchback) This TV is a big 32" CRT and just fitted. I asked him to make sure he drove carefully.
Today he rang and said he has a problem, "The TV has dark lines all accross the screen" I told him that we have never had a problem as he saw when he collected it. He said "You showed the TV in the daylight and you cannot see the lines until it is dark". I assured him that I had watched the TV for over 5 years and a lot of that was in the dark and the TV was perfect when he took it"
He says he wants to return the TV. I have told him "no way. This TV was perfect when it left our lounge"
So he screamed and threatened me with terrible feedback and we just ended the conversation with me re-iterating that no way was I accepting it back.
Could anyone advise me of possible consequences? Am I right or wrong? I know he is going to be back on the phone again.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Note - I know that the TV was more than perfect.
If he had turned up and said he did not want it I would not have had a problem I would have offered it someone else but now it has been driven about and shaken up. I am unhappy

I would normally have said "caveat emptor" - buyer beware. He came, he checked it, he took it away.

However after the outcome of the caravan thread, anything is possible.

I would let him scream & shout & leave bad feedback. Dont be blackmailed. If you have good history most people will ignore one neg.

Actually I agree - a neg is nothing in the scheme of things, especially when being bullied by someone with an apparant attitude problem.

Guy sells a caravan, buyer takes it seems happy, Complains afterwards, goes to court, seller loses case. A lot of reading - but first 2-3 pages outline the problem, then page 12 is where the court case verdict is revealed.

Then towards page 18, more revelations are made.

It's an epic, and eye-opening read.

If it was working fine when it left you, then your conscience is clear. If it broke down shortly afterwards then its hard luck for the buyer but tough.

After all, it was a £1200 TV for £100. Ignore them...

I agree, he has no comeback whatsoever, prob caused himself by less than careful handling in the journey home.

Good case for not using PP on collection items.
