Can my husband transfer my debt to his?

Firstly, big appologies if this has already been asked 1000 times (I have been searching the forums for a simular post).

To cut a long story short, I want to know if I (well we!) can transfer a balance from a credit card in my name by using a credit card cheque in my husbands name (he has a promotion on his barclaycard at the moment)? I didn't think you could do this but having read the t&c's I cant see anywhere where it says you cant. We unfortunatly have some debts which we are unable to pay in full at the moment on credit cards which are in my name but as I am only working p/t now (after having 2 babies), I am struggling to get any 'decent' credit.

yes, its very common, the BT only really need the 16 digit credit card number
