Travelocity payment demand - unsure what to do

We booked some flights on 3rd November last year, and have just received a letter from Travelocity to say that they undercharged us by over £1000. Of course we took the flights and need to pay for them, but this puts us in a difficult position. The flights were for our wedding guests to fly out to join us for our wedding, and at the time we booked I had many unusual transactions for thousands of pounds a month going through our accounts so hardly surprising I did not notice.

I would like to contact Travelocity to say I feel it is unfair that they have waited over 4 months before asking for the additional funds. If they had asked immediately back in November it would not have been a problem. But we got married last month and have now finalised all our wedding finances and cannot simply pluck £1000 out of the air!

I wasn't sure how to approach this with them or what to say. I am not asking to not pay the money, but I just want them to be more reasonable than wanting immediate payment. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

    Looking at the T&C's
All products sold through the Channels are not an offer by us to sell any product, but an invitation to you to make an offer to our suppliers. We are free to accept that offer on behalf of those suppliers or to reject it. We will send you an e-mail confirming the contract if you are purchasing from the website,

    Either way.
    Before you ring:

Read the T&C's on your confirmation for the flights to see what they say and also trawl through the T&C's on their web-site.

You could argue (quite rightly) that the price wasn't obviously lower and you made an invitation to their suppliers which they accepted .

IMHO I'd not pay them a penny, I think they're trying to scare you.

I think Boots Babe is saying she has already used tickets as they were married last month or am i totally reading this wrong and losing the plot.

Looking at the post again you may be right, I got confused with the
....the flights and need to pay for them,

Didn't marry (pun) up the two facts
....to fly out to join us for our wedding
    and
    ...we got married last month

I have edited my post so I don't look too much of a plonker :o

Sorry for not being clear! Yes we have already used the flights. At the time of booking the price was clearly stated and I was happy with it. The problem has only arisen because they subsequently undercharged us. We didn't realise, and they didn't notify us until now, so a bit of an unfortunate situation to be in.

I don't think you are in an unfortunate position.

I think you have the upper hand here. They're just trying to scare you into paying for their mistake.

    Don't pay.

I agree with Blndman,i wouldnt pay them a penny.
Go to the holiday Truths website and into holiday complaints as im sure they will be able to tell you how to go on from here especially if they continue to ask for this money.

Thanks for your replies. Are you sure that even though I agreed to pay the full price by completing the order I still have the right to not pay what I'd agreed to? I wish the answer to this was yes but it seems a bit unlikely - although of course I don't really know any legal ins and outs that's why I asked for help!

I'll try that web site you suggested, thank you. And see where I go from there.

    Thanks again for your help.

    You're confusing me again:confused: (doesn't take much...)

Are you saying that you were quoted (lets say) £3000 for the flights and then Travelocity only took £2000 from your credit card??

    Or

They took £3000 and now say their price should have been £4000???

    Please clarify.
If its the latter you're OK, if the former, then probably not....

That bit confused me as well.As blindman has said if its the first then you will almost certainly have to pay up.
I thought they were charging you an extra £1000 on top of what you had been quoted and already paid.
