basically i have a brand new sony vaio laptop with dual boot to win 7 rc1 and win vista, obviously, i dont use the vista os's on it but i have kept it just in case i dont have the dosh to upgrade to win 7 when the rc expires.
basically win 7 has pretty much worked out of the box as it were for me accept from the odd touch pad driver etc
i managed to download some of the drivers from online but the others such as the entertainment buttons (volume, av mode, play stop etc...) cannot be downloaded online and have to be recovered using the vaio recovery facility preinstalled that acesses the recovery partition or recovery disks (i have acces to both). So i go to get these of the utility (it opens up fine in win 7 as it doesnt have to be installed despite being on the vista partition) and i also opt to download some of the more useful bloatware that came on it such as a free version of photoshop elements and a copy of windvd for the bluray function, and in the download about 50% in the error 505:41 occurs and the install fails.
i researched this briefly and some people have very long winded odd ways of fixing this that users of windows 7rc1 cant seem to make work so im on here picking your brains for any help on this subject.
ps: the model is sony vaio vgn-fw31j
