Ebay delivery problems

Hi guys I ordered some items from an ebay shop on the 16th May and recieved an email on the 19th stating the goods had been dispatched for next day delivery.
I booked the next two days off work which with my days off gave me four days off work in total but surprise, surprise the parcel never arrived.
I emailed the seller stating the problem on the Thursday but recieved no reply(thier info states they generally respond within 1-2hrs), so I again emailed them on Friday and Saturday and sent a message through ebay, again no reply.
By now im getting frustrated so today I opened a paypal dispute and suddenly they reply.
Firstly to my email stating the item was dispatched an they will look into it, then to my ebay message a few hours later stating the item had gone missing (do couriers open for enquiries on a bank holiday?) then to my paypal dispute stating they are concerned it hasnt arrived and giving me the tracking number.
Iv checked the tracking number which shows the parcel as being sent very late on Friday evening. and not mon/tues as thier previous email stated.
Iv now wasted two holiday days waiting on a parcel that has of yet, still not arrived.
My question is do I have any legal right to any form of compensation for the time Iv wasted waiting for an item that wasnt even sent.
Surly I should at least get the postage back.

    Maybe if you ask the seller why, and explain to them they might refund it out of goodwill.

    They've posted it within 7 days as required, but as they said it was going next day delivery, then the star rating/feedback can be used to reflect your experience.
