Returning a item

Hi,
I have a wireless router that is 8 months old that has stopped working.

The router has come with a lifetime guarantee from Belkin.

Should I return the item to the store (PC World) or look to take the longer route through Belkin?

Thanks

Yup......Stopped working as in no power light.

I have tried a power cable from another item that is the same rate etc with no change.

Your contract is with PC World, so take it back to them and they should either repair (if possible) or replace...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

take it to the store, they will probably tell you to go direct to belkin. this is not the case, read up on your consumer rights before going so you can quote it to them, and they should fix or replace yours.

do not let them fob you off whey they say go to the manafacturer

your agreement is with pc world

Given my experience with PC World I would be inclined to email or phone Belkin.
You will probably get a new router quicker.

Contract - Retailer..... I know, but it is Belkin offering the lifetime guarantee. If it was say 2mths old, I'd walk in to PC World, no hassle / aggro. 8mths old, they'd wriggle on the hook and probably try and palm you off on Belkin.

Speak to Belkin - see what they have to say. If they offer a simple solution, go with them.

(Pick your battles - I do on a daily basis with my 5y old!)

8 months old, PCW will replace, no problem.

Come on, this is one of the few times this'll happen on this board :D

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
