Cherry jam making gone wrong - help needed

Kaz it's EASY
Have you got my recipe? (posted as Vera's recipe) it's on here somewhere...
I don't even PEEL the rhubarb and I use ground ginger. It practically makes itself!
On the preserver's year (I think that's where) I have posted that it really is the easiest jam to make - very little prep and NO MESS
(but I make marmalade, Bramble jelly and blackcurrant jam) Bramble jelly is messy and the prep for blackcurrant is - erm - somewhat time consuming.
It's a good job I like making jam.
Plum's easier then those two 'B' jams...and marmalade?
'it was very nice but make the shred thinner next time'
Next time I won't buy two bags of whoopsied Sevilles...
:rotfl:
but my Mum and Dad have eaten nearly ALL of it - 6kg of Sevilles I had...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I've made blackcurrant jam before from fruit we'd put in the freezer from the allotment. I took the bits off while still frozen, however the next lot I got brave and bunged it all through the juicer putting the pulp into a muslin and boiling up. The jam was lovely and everyone who had some commented on how lovely it was without bits. Kitchen was like out of a horror movie though as to start with I forgot to empty the pulp until it spewed out all over everywhere
We've got gooseberries nearly ready then we'll have more blackcurrants, redcurrants, strawbs and rasps to do something with (although the birds or DD will get the latter). Oh and of course we have loads of wild rhubarb!Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
all my kitchen units are WHITE - they get wiped down with NEAT BLEACH at bramble jelly time...
it looks like I have done someone in!
well if you want my failsafe Rhubarb jam recipe you know where I am - I have been making it for over 15 years (before DS was born) without a single problem so I think it has undergone sufficient testing...and I don't even peel the rhubarb anymore so I get a pretty, pale pink jam now - much more appetising than the green jam I used to make.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
