jap200 wrote:I have just cut and pasted this from my post on the vouchers board as there seems to be a more lively discussion here:
I went into GAP today with one of these vouchers that a friend had printed out for me (it was sent to her at work). I was very embaressed at the till when the assistant asked me what my name was and what Company I worked for. She showed me a long prined list of Companies that these vouchers have been sent to and you are expected to provide some form of ID/proof of where you work, in order to use them. As she was explaining this to me, a man came up to the till next to me with the same voucher and his payslip as proof of where he works.
I blushed a deep red and explained that a friend had given it to me as she was unable to use it. I was then told that I was not eligible and had to pay the full price. As I had gathered together £130 of stuff, I then had to put some of it back as I could not afford it all at full price.
Therefore - be warned. In order to use the voucher you need to have some proof of ID + proof that you work in one of the Companies that were sent these vouchers.
The voucher in question has the "reason code: 240" printed at the bottom, which apparently identifies what type of voucher it is. The T & C may be different for all other codes.
I hope nobody else has probelms with it, but let me know if you have a successful shopping trip.
It says nothing about companies in the T&C.0 -
Anyone able to find out the companies involved?0

Folks,
JAP200 says it didn't work for them - please advise which store that was!
For those who have been given the discount without an ID request - please advise which store you purchased from.
Finally, if anybody has seen the list of Company names and can remember any, please advise accordingly.
Thank You MSE's :j0 -
I used the voucher without any problems in the store in bath today. Thanks very much.
If the person ask you which company you are from then just say you got it from a friend then they will still let you use it.
Try to find a till where the salesgirl looks new. Normally they won't give you any problems. Me and 2 of my friends had already used it without problems.0 -
Glad to see it all went ok.
I think there is some confusion with this voucher as it is similar to one that was company specific, but this voucher most definately is not.
Hope you enjoyed your shop, my sisters and Mother all used the vouchers yesterday also.0 -

This voucher is definitely for company staff but is totally up to the sales people at GAP whether they want to question your eligibility. When i was there yesterday, a group of people from a certain company was shopping there and they all were having the same invitations but all printed in cards.
My friend was questioned about which company she worked for and she said the invitation was given by a friend and the person in the end let her used it. Me and some other friends did not have the same problem because we paid upstairs in the men's department and the gal is apparently new and she did not question us so i guess it all depends on your luck.0 -
Thanks wazzygib,
Used voucher without problem in Lakeside GAP...0 -
While I was in Gap with my AMEX someone offered me a voucher to use. I said I had an Amex but thanks. The voucher they had was for "staff and friends" and the box they were putting the vouchers in stated just that. The person she gave the voucher to in the end had no porblems using it...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0
