GAP 30% discount 23-26 March

  • I rang up my local Gap and they told me that I had to bring in my staff card with the voucher and they would check if my company was on the list to receive the discount.

I would approach this with caution to avoid embarrasment.

I'll need e-mail addresses to send the pdf as I don't have rights to attach it to the message on this board

Myself and tweo colleagues went shoppping with these yesterday, no problems at all. There is absolutely nothing on the flyer that says you need an ID? They are public domain.

I work for a local authority and have just seen a bulletin board message saying if I take my ID into GAP I get the 30% discount.

    Probably applies to all LAs?

Maybe, but it doesn't say anything about Amex on the flyer.

The Ts & Cs on the voucher clearly state that the voucher "is not transferable without the consent of GAP". That means that if you receive this offer from GAP you can't pass it on to anyone else, and if you didn't receive it from GAP you are not in compliance with their terms.

OK, but when I made my purchase the GAP salesperson gave me back the voucher and said it could be used all weekend. When I said I wouldn't be back he suggested giving it to someone else. Why don't people just use it and stop finding fault in it?

    Talk about peeing on strawberries.

It's an entirely different voucher. I now know seven people who have used it, without any fuss. I can only say that it's there if you want it, if you don't then fine, but stop trying to find fault in it, it is a good deal.

I have just cut and pasted this from my post on the vouchers board as there seems to be a more lively discussion here:

I went into GAP today with one of these vouchers that a friend had printed out for me (it was sent to her at work). I was very embaressed at the till when the assistant asked me what my name was and what Company I worked for. She showed me a long prined list of Companies that these vouchers have been sent to and you are expected to provide some form of ID/proof of where you work, in order to use them. As she was explaining this to me, a man came up to the till next to me with the same voucher and his payslip as proof of where he works.

I blushed a deep red and explained that a friend had given it to me as she was unable to use it. I was then told that I was not eligible and had to pay the full price. As I had gathered together £130 of stuff, I then had to put some of it back as I could not afford it all at full price.

Therefore - be warned. In order to use the voucher you need to have some proof of ID + proof that you work in one of the Companies that were sent these vouchers.

The voucher in question has the "reason code: 240" printed at the bottom, which apparently identifies what type of voucher it is. The T & C may be different for all other codes.
