Posting shoes - help with ideas

Hi guys
I'm hoping you can help.
I've started to sell on ebay and having had successes selling flat shoes which ge popped into a bag and then wrapped.
I've have now sold 3 pairs of heels without thinking through how I would post them or calculating the weight of the box into the postage costs.
Is the only way to use a shoe box, or do others have any useful tips?
thanks in advance:)

I've sold a few pairs of heels, I packed them sole to sole with heel to toe, wrapped them in tissue paper to keep them secure then wrapped them in brown paper. 1st class they cost me £2.51 each (before the prices went up. Hope that helps..•

When I've sold shoes, I wrapped them individually in bubble wrap, taped them together and popped them in a poly bag. Seems to work ok.:j30/7/10:j

Me, too. The last few pairs I've sold have cost £2.99 per pair to be sent via Second Class recorded.0
