in Credit cards
Hi all,
I would like to get a credit card to make a one off purchase, costing roughly £2,500.
I saw that tesco have a credit card with 0% on purchases for 12 months, i was hoping i could pay it off in a year.
Do you see any disadvantages to this card?
As this will be my first credit card, so im abit worried.
Thanks in advance for your help

You mention that it would be your first credit card. Please bear in mind that if you have little or no credit history, you might struggle to get one of the mainstream cards.
If you do get it, then sounds like the right choice as long as you do pay it all off within the 12 mths, or, if there is any balance remaining at the end of the term, you transfer it to another 0% balance transfer card before Tesco start charging you interest. If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
Have to agree with Staffie.
IF you have limited or no history you MAY struggle to get any mainstream card, particularly one with a healthy limit.
Good luck with it though, one search isn't going to harm you.
Dont however fall into the 'rejection spiral' ie turned down for one, apply for another and so on

Why not ask your bank what card they will offer you?
They will know how you run your account better than most.0 -

Do not apply for Barclaycard Platinum, highly unlikely you'll get accepted IMHO.2010 - year of the troll
