cancelled caller display and I've been charged for it

Hi all. Just what the title says. I cancelled my caller display on the 19th May, have checked my BT account and no calling features are present, the option has disappeared from my phone. But I have received my bill today and there is a charge of £2.50 for caller display, surely this isn't right.

I have actually requested that Sky take over the line rental (done this on 19th May) and this is still being processed, due for completion on 4th June. Will I still have to pay the whole months line rental with BT? I have sent BT an email, as I'm unhappy with what they've charged me.

Was it cancelled before the bill was printed or after?

You pay BT line rental in advance, so I'd expect it to be refunded at a later date. Give them a phone and see what they say!

  • I thought caller ID was free with BT anyway? When we were with BT, we used to pay for it, but then the charges stopped, and we still had the service.

I was unable to cancel Caller Display on my line, every time I did it online it would say cancelled yet I would be billed, I also called up and they said it was cancelled, however they continued to bill me. In the end the Actionline people had to intervene to fix it. In the end I transferred line rental to someone else, and BT continued to try to bill me for line rental as well.

Our calls are routed through Sky and because the override code we used, to make BT calls doesn't work anymore, I get charged for Caller display.

    Hi Abbafan1972,

If you still have the caller display service on your BT account but route your calls through another provider then you will be charged for the service unless you make 6 chargeable calls per quarter on the BT network. Drop me a pm and I will get to the bottom of this.

    Cheers
