Hi,
Got a message from a contact on FB with the usual phishing style message... 'Look at this!' followed by a link pointing at a phishing site. Apparently it's one in a series of recent attacks originating from Russia.
I warned my friend about it but he's convinced he's clean.
So can anyone explain how the message appeared to come from him? The only explanation I can think of is that he's fallen for a phish himself and his details have been compromised. (He says there have been a lot of these links going around)

Your friend is wrong about being "clean". End of.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
He has a mac and he's scanned it, so I accept that there's a lower chance of malware, but something's definitely up.My TV is broken!

Sounds to me like his mac has been compromised:idea:0

More likely that he's fallen for it. I've had three in the past day, blatant and really poorly designed phish site, but not yet blocked by WOT.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Surely its his FB account thats compromised and not his actual Mac. Maybe he should change his login details.0

I'd say his account details have been stolen, or he's installed a malicious FB app.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
