Egg card ppi

Hi Guys
Had a letter from Egg Card saying that they will not entertain my claim for PPI as it was an internet application and the PPI box was ticked.
I cannot remember ticking this, it was my first ever credit card when I was 18 years old, a very very long time ago.
Do I have any redress?
Cheers

Hi Nicki
Yes you do, so keep on at them.
Was this the first response?
If so write back be adamant with your reasons and tell them you would like them to reconsider.
In the final response they should give you details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if eligible and your not satisfied with the outcome.
Keep on at them, they always seem to fob off first time round, keep strong about this, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

In regards of my above post, just go for it, don't let that response you received from them put you off, when you have more time browse the threads and you will find many have been in the same situation as yourself with an internet sale and they have been successful.
Now coming to your age, in my opinion as you were 18 to me its a vulnerable age anyway, with being too young to understand how these policies work.
For example even though I'm lots older lol, I always assumed that PPI was always part of the finance, so signed for it anyway, with not knowing any different.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

omg - You guys are fab.
I am very cautious and tbh I took PPI with everything I have ever bought. It is only now that I really understand the full extent of it and its pretty much useless unless you conform to the lenders requirements.
I have been successful in recovering £2800 from a Britannia loan and also £800 from a Britannia Credit card. But they admitted liability straightaway. and it took 1 letter.
Egg are quite scary I believe they can demand full payment of the credit card debt, I owe £4K and dont have that money to pay back at this stage.
Should I keep going with this???
Thanks again for your support you are all fabby!!

Your very welcome Nicki.....:A.
They should not demand full payment, your only reclaiming what is rightfully yours which have left you out of pocket, and tbh I think the FOS would see this in your favour anyway if it went that far, so yes continue with this.
There are loads and loads reclaiming against these, so go for it.;)
Wow well done with your other claims, fantastic.

Please note though that Egg are famous for paying your PPI (if you win) back to your card. (ie - you owe me money, I owe you money etc). I have noted quite a few like this just recently and FOS are allowing it and saying to people that it would take another few months to TRY to get the money paid over to you.0
