Livebox and Netgear dg834gV3......
Everything is connected via cable atm, and connected to internet, (obviously, or wouldn't be posting.) untill I can set up the WDS on the Netgear.
Couple of things, I have dissabled DHCP on the dg834 and DHCP on the livebox has assigned an IP to the PC, can I put the dg834 on a seperate network (Subnet) and would DHCP on the livebox still assign an IP automatically?
Also Livebox is not showing Netgear in associated devices, but Netgear is showing Livebox. Will this cause a problem when I go wireless?
Full configuration....
Livebox default gateway ip 192.168.1.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
dg834 bridge/switch ip 192.168.1.2
PC ip 192.168.1.15
WDS Wireless point to multi point bridge with local and remote MAC configured
SSID same on gateway and switch, also same WAP key.

are you transmitting on the same channel for both wireless devices? try altering the channels so they arent interfering . (1, 6 and 11 are usual choices)
Are you going for 10-15% wireless overlap or 50% overlap btw?Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
I've been having a look on the net and it seems the Livebox is a no brainer. Will have to wait a week or so untill I get my new router then try again. To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0

OK back on this again now I have a new router, D-Link DSL2640R, and still using the Netgear.
It works off the batt through ethernet but I'm having problems configuring the wireless....
Both routers have been supplied with each others MAC address, SSID's and WAP2 keys are matching, Netgear has been configured as a repeater, both have been assigned static IP's, and DHCP is disabled on the Netgear.
Would it be worth disabling wireless encryption to see if that works? Or is there something more obvious I have missed? To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
