Al Murray @ 02

Hi and thanks in advance for all your comments!!

2 Weeks ago we went to the 02 to see Al Murray

I booked the tickets for the show literally the second they went on sale and was quite happy getting the seats allocated.

When we arrived at the 02 we could see straight away our view would be blocked by the camera men filming the show.

This then was proved to be even worse when the camera men themselves got on the platform straight infront of us and completely blocked our view of the middle of the stage.

Our seats (Block 106, Row HH, Seats 197 & 198) were the last one’s allocated in the middle of the arena as the eight seats to our right were left empty – obviously because they knew they had the same view as we were sold !!

With about 10 minutes before the show, the 02 representatives realised they had made a mistake selling these tickets in the middle, as so many people were complaining they started moving people from the bottom rows first to the spare seats on the side. (I accept this them knowing and acknowledging they shouldn’t have sold these tickets!!).

Unfortunately the spare tickets ran out three rows in front of us.

I did ask both the lady and the gentleman handing out the tickets – and they both said they were all gone and could do nothing to help us.

When the concert started our fears were authenticated – as the only time we could see Al Murray was when he was at the left of the stage.

I was very angry as this was a Birthday present for my wife (who is a big Al Murray fan) and because of their greed selling seats that were almost completely obstructed, her whole weekend was ruined.

Obviously the cost of getting there, the stay in the hotel, meals etc. has made the feeling of loss even worse.

I have emailed 02 three times and got their standard email:-

"Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience at The O2.
Feedback is valuable to us to understand how we can continue to tailor our venue to meet your expectations.
Your issue will be looked into by the relevant department and you should receive a reply on the matter in due course.
Please feel free to contact the customer service team, should you require any further assistance."

So following their advice, I have tried ringing them - obviously no answer!!

Has any one had dealings with them - or has any one got any advice!!

Kindest regards,

Mike

Take them to the county court-sue them for "loss of enjoyment".
Bring it to the attention of Al murrays fan club? Not sure that will have any effect.

If you speak to cab,or look at consumer direct there are template letters to send them warning them what you will do if they don't pay up,send recorded delivery.Personally I would go for the county court option to get your associated costs back too.

Hi Hollydays many thanks for the very fast reply (Sorry for the slowness of mine - been cutting the grass!!).

I shall definately foolow your advice - it is the 02's complete lack of customer service that has wound me up more - this could have been solved straight away with a sorry and ticket refund!!

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Many thanks,

    Mike
