Online discount

No claims discount

Tesco offer all of their customers the opportunity to reduce the cost of their car insurance policy by building a no claims discount. During the quote process you will be asked how many claim free years you have had as a car insurance policy holder, this will be translated into a discount that will then be applied to your policy premium. Those with 5 or more claim free years may be eligible for a no claims discount of up to 65%. this increases to 70% for those over 50. The opportunity to ear a no claims discount is also available for named drivers (although this is not transferable to policies with other insurers).

Named driver discount

Drivers who have been named on a Tesco car insurance policy for at least 1 year are eligible for a discount of between 30 - 50% when they take out a Tesco car insurance policy of their own. This discounted amount is based on the number of continuous claim free years you have as a named driver on a Tesco policy. To have the discount applied you would simply need to notify Tesco during the quote process as to the name, date of birth and postcode of the individual whose policy you are named under (this must still be live when the discount is applied).
