ME/CFS fundraising site based on money-saving methods

There's a new fundraising campaign for biomedical research into ME/CFS that is giving weekly moneysaving tips via a daily blog with the idea that if you save some money using that tip, you donate part of the saving - it's at www[dot]justfourquid[dot]com. For example, if you save £10 you might give £5. It seems to be a completely new idea for charity fundraising and has already raised a lot in its first week.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

I was about to post a link to the 'Just Four Quid' campaign, but it looks like you've beaten me to it!

It's only been running 3 weeks so far, and I suspect all the money saving experts on this site will already be aware of most of the tips already (especially as this site got a mention in week 2 :) ) but if you do save any money as a result of reading the 'Just Four Quid' blog then please consider donating it to the appeal.

    Thank you!

I've been following this site - it's not just using MSE methods (though they did go for the review of household bills in the first week and the author is a big fan of Martin Lewis) but includes a variety of quirky, fun stuff - for example, the next week was saving money by giving up buying the paper for a week plus avoiding radio/TV/internet news to see if it made you happier! This week they're doing how to make your own greetings cards for pennies and reckon you can save about £40 a year doing that. They're featured on the Justgiving[dot]com newsblog as the top story at the moment - if you go to that site, scroll down and click on the big green thing you'll see it.
  • It's a good site - they're doing how to sell your unwanted books this week so you can raise money for the research and then donate a bit of what you make.
