My laptop has been going downhill for a while now. After running a DIY diagnosis I still can't fathom whats wrong with it.
Anyways, now it wont let me boot at all past the splash screen without the BSOD telling me to uninstall antivirus/defrag yadda yadda yadda.
I've made a bootable CD-R with Puppy on and its working great. However there are things on this laptop I want to back up. Is there anyway I can back the files (photos mainly) up to USB? I've had a google but I can only see how to make Puppy bootable from USB.
Failing that would it be a case of booting from USB and copying the files to disk? I've not had much chance to get to grips with Puppy yet so not sure what burning software it has and how to do it from a mounted drive.
Thanks xx

Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching
Save the cheerleader, save the world!

While you're running Puppy you should be able to plug in a USB flash drive and copy your precious data to it from the hard disk. Easy as pie - assuming both drives are mounted automatically.0

Must say that I don't find Puppy at all intuitive, having used many different operating systems over 20+ years.
Personally, I'd boot from an Ubuntu live CD and transfer the required files to a USB drive, using the file manager.
The screen shot below shows the contents of my Windows 7 Hard Disk from an Ubuntu live CD session, with the USB Drive shown as "2.0GB Media". It's simply a case of dragging & dropping the required files to the USB drive.0 -
You will have to insert the stick/drive/device and the mount it - there is a mount button. Then you can browse to that device.0
