Hi
I have been given a Matsui VP9407A Video recorder and when I plugged it in it asked for a pin code. Unfortunately we weren't given that from the person who gave us it.
Does anyone have any ideas how to bypass the pin code.
Thanks

Try 0000 - which is the default code on some of the ones I have had. If it doesn't work hopefully someone else will be along soon who will be able to help.0

Hi
Does anyone have any other ideas how to bypass the pin code on a Video recorder as the person who we got it from doesn't remember the code. Thenks0 -
you could try this found somewhere on the web...
Answer found. to Reset MATSUI Video VP9407A which is showing 'PROTECED' Unplug mains for 20 minutes, then plug in agian, power on, then PRESS CH UP & RECORD BUTTONS TOGETHER.. unless you power off for 20 minutes, the buttons won't reset the video.
Forget above - thats what to do if you get the code wrong 3 times it lock you out and you want to try again.
Now I am a finding the whole thing a bit strange, that the person that who gave it to you doesn't know the code yet they would have to enter it everytime they unplugged it or there was a power cut - very strange!
Anyway the code is there to make it useless if its stolen so I very much doubt if there are any ways to reset it otherwise the system would be pointless!
Advice from Mastercare is:
If you forget your PIN code, telephone 0541 541 541 for your local Mastercare service centre.
I suspect any fee/hassle of getting it fixed would greatly exceed just getting another VCR!

Thanks I will try this. I got it from freecycle and the person who gave me it got it from his Grandmother, not sure if she is still around so maybe that's why he didn't know the code.
