iTunes Guru needed - Help with Smart Playlists - Me confoosed!

Hey all, would really appreciate some help with sorting out my Smart Playlists.

I'm trying to follow this great guide, in order to get the most from my music, but I must be missing something.

As per the guide, I've created Smart Playlists called...

'xxx Highest Rated'
'xxx Latest Additions'
'xxx Not Often Played'
'xxx Fresh'

...and then a 'xxx Mix' playlist that feeds off each of the others.

(xxx is there to keep it at the end if my playlist list).

The only trouble is, even though I think I've followed the guide accurately (apart from personal tweaks), my xxx Mix playlist (as shown in the screenshot) doesn't contain any tracks.

Can anyone apply some logic to help me find out why?

Ok Gibson - I'll have a go at helping you - after all, now I've read that guide, I know what I'll be trying to do when I get home!!!

Do the 'base' playlists have any tracks in them, first of all???

Secondly, can you put a screenprint of the dialog box relating to your xxxmix playlist up on here?

My screenshots are already in my original post...

As you can see, there are tracks in all of them, apart from the xxx Mix playlist.

This is what's confoosing me.

Lol - your screenshots are in your OP? What's an OP? (I'm probably missing a really obvious abbreviation here!)

Yeah - I've got it. In your xxxMix playlist conditions, you're asking the playlist to 'Match ALL of the following rules' - and by doing this you're telling iTunes to find tunes that are in ALL of your base playlists - and I bet you have no sings in all of them.

Change the condition at the top of the xxxMix dialogue box to 'Match ANY of the following rules' and tell me what happens...

Seems like a pretty good way of using your music, might get to hear some long lost tracks now.

No worries...btw, from your screenshots I must say I think you have an awesome taste in music. And P.O.D. actually any good? I've only heard them in collab with other artists...

Wow, thanks for the compliment.

I really do like P.O.D. and haven't really heard them with other artists.

Their 'Satellite' album is my favourite thus far, however the new 'Testify' album is pretty good too.

Do you recognise artists such as Casting Crowns and Christ Tomlin?

If you like music with a positive message, check out Kutless (any of their 4 albums).
