I have never owned a credit card before nor ever applied for one but my OH has two and we where hoping for me to open a card in my name, as i have a better credit rating, and then transfer some of his balance over.

What i was wondering is can i get a CC when i don't work? It seems alot of them ask for income details and i understand why but does this mean i would be unsuccessful in any applications?

I don't work but Barclaycard gave me one in my own right. It was only a low limit about £300 to begin with but they have upped this to £450 now.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250

My girlfriend who lives on her own with 3 children, and only recieves benefits paid into her lloyds tsb account. She applied for a credit card (from whom she banks with) and was given a platnium card with £3500 credit limit.

Why do want a credit card when you are not working?

How do you expect to pay back balances??

Unlimited???? So you're saying you could put the national debt on that one card. You must have a CL, I'd look at your documents closely!

I don't work but my OH does, so what we are intending to do is move some of the balances over from his high rate card to one with either a lower rate or O% for a limited time. My credit score is better than his and so that is why we are considering it, the balance will be paid, as always but a lower rate would stop what we pay going mainly towards the interest, thus pasying it off sooner.
