Parcelforce screwing up- anything I can do?

I won a rather large lot on Friday 15th.
Seller posted on the Wednesday, by Parcelforce 48, so it was meant to be here on Friday.
Friday comes......and goes.
I log onto the Parcelforce website and put in the tracking number where it tells me it is "held" at the deeside depot, and it says that there has been a attempted delivery.

This is a blatant lie as we live on a very quiet road, where we can see and hear the van as it comes, we were in all day, and there was no card put through

I've sent a email explaining this, and booked a redelivery. I'm just very peed off as the earliest delivery date due to the bank holiday is the Wednesday.
That's a week since it was posted for a two day delivery service!

Is there anything I can do? I'm guessing that any compensation will go to the sender even if I do (somehow) wrangle it? :(
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I've had this happen with parcelforce and other couriers. Seems they routinely lie about having attempted deliveries when it suits them, and there's no comeback. If you're lucky they will actually attempt to deliver it next time.

You can go to the depot & collect it as long as you have the tracking ref & ID IIRC?

Thanks for the suggestion, and it would be a good one but we don't have a car and the depot is a way away- 50 miles ish I think, although I'm not great at distances.
