Test Drive Insurance
I've had a search through the forum but couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I hope that someone can help me.
When taking a test drive at a dealership, do you need to have your own insurance policy in your name? At the moment I am insured as a named driver on my parent's policy and I was just wondering if I needed to have my own policy in order to test drive a car.

No, the dealer will have insurance in place to cover you on the test drive.0

But watch what excess there is on it !! I had a Nissan dealer tell me there was a £1000 excess so told him politely that i would look elsewhere.
It should be covered by there motors traders policy but some dealers will try to cut there costs by having a large excess
You will need your driving licence0 -
Yeah they cover you on their insurance...never asked about the excess though :S0
