IN the olden days before the world went mad and lent anyone a huge silly mortgage without checking they had a job even, then being able to show you've saved a deposit was the sane and sensible thing to do.
The sooner we return to proper, sensible lending the better.
And the sooner house prices will return to sensible levels.
Why not answer the question rather than be a pompous A$$?0 -
Hey, i'm new at this but have some experience in this area.
My partner and I bought out first house in Sept last year. We had enough for a 5% deposit saved up, but parents gifted us the other 5% so we could get a good deal. So i doubt the gifted deposit should be a problem.
Also, we used an independant financial advisor who didn't charge us a penny and got us a great tracker deal so our mortgage payments are now roughly a quarter of what they were thanks to BOE base rate reductions.
No advice on the defaults though! Sorry.
Hope that helps.0
