BT outage in south of England

Fuming

Had no internet since 5.05am yesterday
Apparently our ISP (plusnet) told us it's BT a major outage is all they will say

Rang again this morning to be told it must be our router as it's all back on
Wow what a conincidence that would be our new router chose the outage time to pack up yeah right ! (I do know router can pack up at will before anyone choses to berate me :rotfl:) just seems too coincidental to me

Patronising idiots it is not our router as we have now proved, and they have finally raised a fault requesting BT to sort it

Q) What could the worse case scenario be on this ?
A) Well these things can take months MADAM !

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Have had to go borrow a dongle & buy a top up

Bet the BT customers are back on
Anyone else got this or are we an isolated case

Feel better for ranting :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Is your telephone line working ok? Are any of your neighbours affected?

Does the BT website give details of any outages?

If it is a fault at the cab or the exchange, it should be sorted within a few days. The only instances I know of where a fault has taken months to sort are where the problem is intermittent, so difficult to pinpoint. If your ISP has logged a fault with BT, I would ask them for the fault reference so you can chase it up directly (though you may not get much joy until Tuesday, I'm not sure what service they offer over bank holidays).
    Gone ... or have I?

    Hi all

Yes we have tried turning the router back on
Yes we have re booted everything Plusnet now agree they were wrong & that the BT fault still exists
    It MAY be fixed today

    We live in Hampshire
They say it is affecting huge areas of the South
It is not isolated to our street we have friends in the same town but different areas that are having this too

I was at the mother in law's yesterday on the south coast of Kent and the same thing happened. No internet until around 4pm and Sky said that was due to BT fiddling around and it affected a large area of the south east
