payment unclaimed

I bought a suit case lock on ebay for 5.77 I sent the seller payment straight away. However I have just logged on and had a message saying:

HI , THANKS FOR BUYING FROM ME , Can you tell me if you having problems with your payment ? because I receive a mens from paypall saying your payment is pending , thanks

I just logged in my paypal and it said the money was 'unclaimed' I have no money in my paypal but I have enough in my bank for it to come out. It said cancel at the end so I have cancelled the payment. Should I recieve an email off paypal saying I have cancelled or not? I am going to re send the payment and hope it works.

Does anyone know why it might be saying this? And whos end the fault might be at , the sellers or mine? I sent a payment five days ago on paypal with no problems.

EDIT:

I have just been on the transaction details and it says the following.
Payment To:
forexample@btintenet.com (The recipient of this payment is Unregistered)
Seller's ID:
forexample784
Seller's Email:
forexample@btintenet.com

Thanks.

Either they haven't set up their PP account, or they've given you a dud email address to pay to.

I thought that. Thanks for confirming I am not very good with ebay, paypal etc. So I will just have to wait for a reply off the seller:rolleyes:.

    Thank you Fay :o

After about 5 attempts at paying I finally noticed that there is an R missing off @btinternet.com so I asked the seller to change it. Apparently she has changed it sometimes people get problems sometimes they dont.

Anyway the seller has said I can just send it to her paypal account if I want? Now the item only cost 10 pounds. But IF it didnt arrive would I still be able open a dispute? Sorry for being so clueless.
