Glasgow warning: 'free' bags of designer makeup? ha!

It's more the sales catch of handing you a 'free' bag and then running through their long pitch before telling you the real cost, that got me angry. I suppose the deal isn't too bad, but I really had no wish to buy anything off them after that. If they'd just came out with it at the start saying spend £25 and get 5 items of designer makeup free I might have considered the offer more.0

Yeah, it`s Victoria Jackson and they were in W.H.Smith in Paisley too. I find it quite off-putting being pounced on as soon as you go through the doors and tend to back away, does that make me a wierdo?
I suppose they are just doing their job though? What goes around, comes around......:kisses3:0 -

That's a fair point, however lots of companies use the tactic.
I have been enticed with offers of "free" phone only to find I have to take out a contract. "Free" minutes, only if I take a contract. "Free" Sky box and then I have to sign up. "Free" flights, and then after applying I have to book overpriced hotel rooms.
I guess if Vodaphone, O2, Sky and Thomsons use these tactics then smaller companies think it is acceptable marketing0 -
They were at W H Smiths in The Plaza East Kilbride today.
they were in Luton a couple of weeks ago at WHS entrance in the Mall. I can't believe smiths are allowing this TBH. It put me off going in there while they were around. I hate the way they shove a little black bag in your hand, then whip it away as you are just about to take the 'free bag' off them, then they try very hard to get you buy their over priced cosmetics:rolleyes:0 -
Haven't seen these particular guys, but I've seen lots of others selling hand creams and nail products - saying they're all organic and they do this, that, and the next thing for the skin. They're the best products, etc, better than all the rest. They're generic products repackaged.
It amuses me to ask them questions about said products and see them squirm0 -
noticed the make up people on the prowl at Cameron Toll yesterday. They have a stand in the middle of the centre near WH Smith. tried to swerve the buggy around to avoid them and nearly knocked over a stand!0
