most people will feel easier putting a bottle of water in knowing they can take it out at any time as apposed to wrongly adjusting the ballcock.

Just think your saving 1 liter every flush that must be about 5 liters a person a day.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

Its not just saving money but imagine if everyone in the UK did the same the amount of water saved would be huge and maybe no need for hosepipe bans :)

I used to have one of those in my toilet to save money on the water meter bill. However, there isnt a sufficient "whoosh" on it to flush the toilet properly so therefore the pipes were getting slowly blocked. In the end the toilet was blocked and I had to pay a plumber £47 to come and unblock the toilet and the pipes. So it wiped out any savings I had made on water. I took the bottle out after that.

Severn Trent Water will send you a 'save a flush bag' free ( I acually asked for 3 very nicely and they sent me 3 :j ) Im not with trent water either !

You just put the bag in the bottom of the cistern and it swells up.

It has been working well for me so far but am now getting worried about my pipes getting bloked up AAHHHHHHH

We have one of the severn trent bags in ours at the moment (husband works for them so keeps getting given one). We aren't on a meter but like to try and be more environmentally friendly. It appears to flush the toilet fine...

It helps if the water you used for washing clothes or floors is used to fill the cistern ;pour straight from bucket. The detergent (organic, non-toxin bearing or, in case of clothes, ionising ball, if you're like me) cleans the bowl and drains a bit too.

This water is also good for the garden.

This is very topical now that we are having hose pipe bands and are now all wanting to save water...

'having a bloke up your pipes' (!!) and

This is very topical now that we are having hose pipe bands and are now all wanting to save water...

which hose pipe got the French Horn (and do they always play Handels Water Music?) , in near consecutive posts - was just too much! Must be the glass of wine with tea!

Am thinking of starting a 'most amusing typos thread? And I will check my spelling most carefully, before I post this.
