T mobile won't give me a PAC code!
Options
Hi, I cancelled my T mobile solo 30 day contract at a T mobile shop using their phone. My 30 days was up yesterday, so phone inactive today. However, have just rung them to ask for a PAC code so that I can transfer my number to Virgin and they've said I'm too late as the contract is now cancelled! Am livid, although tried to be nice to guy to see if he could help, he checked with a manager and said he couldn't. I asked why no-one told me about this when I cancelled, he said personally he always does, but whoever I spoke obviously didn't! He has a record of who this was but wouldn't give me info - I asked him to pass my feedback on that I was really disappointed in their customer service. I've had my number for ever and can't bear having to start all over with a new one. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

You sadly have no choice. A number can only be transferred while you still 'own' it. As your contract has now ended, it's theirs again.
PAC codes need to be requested at the same time as your notice is given ideally.

When you request a pac you then have 30 days to use it, there is no need to ever request a pac and give notice as they both give differing ways of ending the contract.
Request a pac and if within 30 days you transfer your number over to a new provider, your previous contract ends, doing this you keep your number. This is what you should have done.
Request 30 days notice of contract and your contract will end 30 days later but you wont keep your number, which is what you did but shouldn't have done.0 -
a Mobile number sits in a hold for a period before being handed back to the issuing network, T-Mob can pull it out "hibernation" & get it on a payg a/c for you and issue a PACSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
