Hi all
We're off to the Dominican Republic in June for a wedding, and I read that we need visas.
Can anyone give me some info as to how we go about it, costs, etc?
Any responses much appreciated.

i went in 2005, we filled out forms on the plane which were given to us by airline staff. i think it was about £20. You also need $20 departure taxMum to 2 beautiful daughters born Oct 05 & Oct 08

It doesn't cost anything to smile!:hello: :starmod: :starmod: :starmod: :starmod::starmod:0 -
when i went everyone just got them at the other end at the airport it was easy so dont worry there were a planeful of us getting them at once!0

Yes you can buy your card when you arrive. But trust me, as a veteran of 10 trips to the Dom Rep the last thing you want to do after a 9 hour flight is queue up and start filling in forms.
You can buy in advance by sending a photocopy of your passport, a sae and a postal order (not a cheque) payable to Dominican Republic Consulate for £8 each to: 539 Martins Buildings, Water Street, Liverpool, L2 3SX. The phone number is 0151 236 0722.
This is the information from last year so it might be worth giving them a ring to make sure the cost is still the same. The cards normally come back by return of post.
I always get them in advance. I have never been on a UK charter flight that handed out blank cards. You have to get them in the customs hall.
As a previous poster said. you need $20 each in cash for a departure tax.0
