how much should plastering cost roughly?

Options
I live in South wales would like to get a room measuring 3.3m by 4.6m (including the ceiling) plastered. A little work will be needed to square up the corners around what was the chimney breast and the window frames. The work is non urgent. I have been quoted between £460-£800 for this by various companies. In addittion if I want plaster board on the ceiling this will cost between £100-£150. Any one got any ideas whether these quotes are steep or not?

I paid £650 about a year ago to have the walls in my living room and dining room done, plus a few other walls that had recently been built and plastered.

Mind you, that wasn't a plastering company - just a general tradesman who happened to be good at plastering and was cash in hand.

The prices you have been quoted don't seem too bad.

I presume that the price quoted for putting plasterboard up on the ceiling includes the supply of the plasterboard and not just the time?
