Received this this morning

URGENT - Plase ring 08451460186 we need to speak to you about a critical business matter as soon as possible. Ref (9 digit no) POBOX82, PR13EL

Have searched Google and its obviously a DCA and I have many debts so not sure which one it could be, although I was under the impression my debts were all being managed in an OK way..... Have had no letters or anything from anyone asking for money lately, just this text???

Has anyone had any recent dealings?

  • Yeah I was wondering who had my mobile number too, have no idea, well, obviously I won't be ringing them, will await a joyous letter through the post, and will be armed with my prove it letter :rotfl:
  • These are now ringing my mobile virtually every hour including Sunday, bank holiday etc, occasionally leaving an automated message but as yet I have had nothing in writing, is this normal???

Its one of the standard letters from here, essentially asking the DCA to prove I owe whatever it is they will claim I owe???

Cant find the link right now though and am off out now, will post it later if no-one else has...

You know there is an easy way to stop these calls to your mobile ... one is obviously setting incoming calls to phone book only and the other is getting your number changed by reporting these calls as nuisance to your phone provider. Usually it is free to do. But this is really the only way you can stop them to your mobile.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
  • Thanks Merlin, I had heard of this setting on a mobile, will have to look see if my phone does it. If not, will see if can get them to block the number....

All mobiles usually have this function. It's a basic security feature. ;)

Or just get your provider to change the number; free, normally once you tell them you've had nuisance calls. Which these are.

  • Thanks Merlin, have looked at my phone and seems it can do this, but I have to make an accepted calls list which only allows 10 numbers on it, which seems a bit rubbish to me....

Will look into the number thing I think
