    Hi

was just wondering if anyone else has tried booking a Hotel through Tescos vouchers ?

I was slightly puzzled to find out that if you pay with Tesco Vouchers you can't get the ACTUAL hotel price they charge you more ? i,e An £85 stay in an old English inn hotel on their website was about £115 for Tesco vouchers users ??? surely this sort of thing is illegal.

I havn't booked a hotel for a while now with Tesco clubcard but when I have in the past it has usually stated that online prices to do not apply only the brochure price. Some hotels also only have certain rooms allocated for the scheme, so often say there are none available. I spent ages once trying to book and asked them to tell me exactly what dates were available to be told that they could not do that I had to give them a certain date and they would check, ended up not booking anything at all.

I do value the clubcard scheme but it is not all it seems.Once booked a caravan with them with Haven> brochure price was £900, when we got there it was absolutely horrible and scrawled across the envelope we were given was 'DO NOT MOVE' we had to pay extra in cash to get upgraded as we could not have stayed in the one we were given.

The same principle applies to many of their so-called deals. Most of them have always been overpriced to make it look like a bargain when the vouchers are used. A classic at the moment is the £6 deal for an Ideal Home Show ticket - widely available free of charge and certainly not remotely worth £18.

I got so fed up with it in the end that I found a holiday deal which enabled me to get rid of the whole lot in one go (quite a few) and I rarely now use Tesco at all. A Lidl/Waitrose combination is far cheaper, with much better food at a much lower price. I've also ditched the Tesco Visa card and replaced it with a 1% cashback card.

Tesco now gets a much smaller proportion of my income, and that in itself feels pretty good!
  • Hi, i am thinking of taking out car insurance with tesco and it mentions on the site using clubcard vouchers to pay - are these 3x the amount or just cash value? Also are there any codes around for extra points or discount codes?

    Many thanks

Where does it say you can use clubcard vouchers? I've looked on the reward site and cannot find car insurance on there.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

  • Hi all,
I'm a bit confused... I thought you always get 5% off when you buy 6 bottles of wine, but is that not on the website at all...? Juast put an order through with 12 bottles of wine and they come up at full price, or is the discount only on sometimes...?
    Greatful for help!
I don't think I can hang on til Friday...

    http://direct.tesco.com/p/inc/specials/moneysavingecoupons/

there's a few vouchers for Direct there.

At the bottom £25 off when you spend £250 on large kitchen appliances, code - TD-KDFR

I am also after a code for Direct, one that can be used on small items of furniture. My total spend is a little over £50, so I don't qualify for the £25 off when you spend £250 on furniture in that link :(

    Anyone know of anything?

Save £10 when you spend £50 or more at Tesco.com
    TESCO COUPON CODE
    Find it on couponrefund.com

    That's groceries - not direct
