i think the password recovery programs only work for files on your local PC, not servers on the internet.0

i think the only solution is for you to remember the security questions,0 -
Just try and remember the security questions, but maybe do them slightly differently- e.g. Capital letter at start of each word etcetera. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Hotmail email addresses normally expire after a certain period of non activity - 90 days I think.
Hotmail support (if you can find some means to contact them) won't be able to do anything.
Once an account disappears, someone else can register that email address (not sure how long it takes for it to become available). That's your best bet - but all your existing emails will of course have disappeared.
Another way to avoid password issues is to have a secondary email address associated with your account, like a yahoo account linked to your hotmail account - that can help with recovery process. But too late if you have not done that.0 -
As already has been pointed out, password recovery programs are no good here.0
