Temporary insurance for a US driver??

Bit of a problem here - my American brother in law is coming out here for a couple of weeks and I'm lending them a car. I don't use the car so its not insured.

I need to get temporary insurance for them however it seems that most places won't do insurance for US licence holders.

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who does temporary insurance for American drivers.

He won't be able to take out a policy on your car.

Is your car taxed? If not you will need to insure it to get it taxed, and your insurer might then take him as a named driver.

Yup - the car is taxed but its not covered under a long term insurance policy, its a second car which I've got temporarily insured (on a 1 month rolling basis) so that my girlfriend can use it when she commutes to work. I will be selling it as soon as she's done using it.

Maybe its worth me taking out a whole insurance policy on the car and then cancelling it and getting a refund when she's done.
